Team McCormick

Looks like they are in trouble. Obviously hurt to let last night's game get away from them. Debbie is really struggling now - seems like she floats all her out-turns wide, as in 10th end last night. If she hits the broom with either of her rocks, she wins are at worst plays an extra end. Ouch

I can't understand team McCormick....they seem lost and dejected. The game against SWE made be throw stuff at the monitor. Debbie's last shot in the 7th made me scream like Charlie Brown or Homer Simpson (Arrrghhhh....Dohhhhhh).

They have a chance to get into tie-breakers IF they win their last two games and IF Denmark loses to Canada.

Just ticked right now. Have to visit the priest for confession after this tournament is over. :(

Top ten ideas on how team McCormick can improve next year.....

10. Surgicaly implant laser range finders for pin-point shots.

09. Find the coach from the movie "Men with Brooms"

08. Give the Curl-TV commentator Laryngitis

07. Dump the fish sponsor...get the Nike swoop

06. Curl in sunglasses because they make you look cool

05. Have fun during the summer and practice your golf swing

04. Consult with Barry Bond's nutritionist

03. Change your team name from "lucky monkies" to "spitting cobras"

02. Move to the moutains of BC where a secret society of monks will teach you the ultimate mysteries of the roarin game.

01. Change your name to Wang and speak Chinese

With no offense intended for team McCormick, it is clear that choosing a fifth is an important part of building a team. Congratulations to Tracy S. for playing a great week. However, it is worth noting that the team was not the same as we are used to seeing. Congrats to the team for making the best week with the worst possible situation (losing a player to illness). Hope that Nicholson is feeling better!!!!

Deb should have given the reins to Allison who is a superior
shooter. What was with the guts on these gals are they pregnant or on the cheeseburger diet?

What a gutless comment.

What poor sportsmanship! There's no way this comment would have been made about a men's team. Come on it's the 21st century fellas.

I'm not sure about any of the others, but I heard that Allison Pottinger is 4 to 5 months pregnant.

Take a peak at the top men's teams, then look at the women's teams. The second view is not only much better, but much healthier and athletic.

could you please clarify your statement? Are you saying that the women's teams are better, healthier and more athletic then the top men's team... or the other way around?

The statement is very clear actually.

The second view, which would be of the women's teams, as it says, is better because they are better looking. Also, the top women's teams are healthier and more physically fit.

haha the person asked for clarification on the comment because its quite funny that you would prefer womens curling.. but then again.. you probably like nascar, nfl europe, major league soccer.. (all second rate leagues in their own sport)

the women are more physically fit you say.. in relation to their highest level maybe... but in absolute terms, the men s side sweeping is definitely better then the womens.. and what matters here is the absolute measure.

A-Curler-VSOP, I agree that Allison is a hotshot, but that's what a 3rd is suppose to be. Debbie brings much more than her (awesome) shooting skills to their team. Being a skip is more than having the ability to make the shots. It's calling the game, leading the team, staying the calmest under pressure and being able to execute when everything is on the line. What makes a skip is a person's personality, as a skip has to have excellent people skills. With all due respect, I think that Allison is almost too emotional to be a skip. She has the perfect makeup of a hot shot third, though, as we've all seen.

I totally agree with heyyyy that the skip needs to do all of those things, but i highly doubt debbie knows how to do any of that. the woman has the personality of a glass of water. Sure she looks calm under pressure, but she has no other expressions so of course she's gonna look calm under pressure!!!! Either way I think Allison is a stronger curler all around, and i think Debbie should think about stepping down again and play front end for a couple of years and take a different look at the game again.

I agree some people are just better thirds. I think that is the case with Dr. Double also. He moved down and found instant success. McCormick's team will be fine. Debbie just lost a little confidence which is unlike her.

Boy backswing, you sure don't know Debbie, do you? I think that dynamic is just fine. Allison and Debbie work great together. Debbie is really that calm on the ice. Don't let the exterior fool you, I know on the inside she's about kicking tail and taking names but outwardly stays calm and calculating. Let Allison show the emotion. Kinda hard to pin a personality on someone you don't know! This team is just fine, what they were missing at Worlds was their lead. She's the team motivator. Tracy is a great curler and made all the shots, but Natalie keeps the team loose or jacks them up when they need it.

Ride it like you stole it!

Wow pepplehead I sure do know Debbie, the only tail that she's kicking and the only names that she's taking are other club women's teams and other US womens teams. She know's that she's past her prime and it reflects on her robotic demeanor. You've probably seen her when she was drunk, of course anyone would show some emotion then!!! please don't base what you know of debbie off of what you've seen her like after a few drinks...

oh and pebblehead... BLOW IT OUT YOUR A$$!!!

Well, that didn't take long before the long knives got pulled. I think it's a record.

Someone seems to have some anger issues. May suggest that you get a puppy and some happy pills before the men in white coats pay you a visit.

I didn't know that 34 year olds, in their 5th year of skipping, with a gold, silver and several cashspiel victories are considered "past their prime". While other teams keep falling apart, they're still there.
